We have a passion for high performance software.
Hi! We’re Superluminal. We believe that programmers deserve top quality profiling tools. Tools that are actually properly designed for today’s day-to-day profiling workflows. Tools that don’t crash at the drop of a hat. Tools that are fast and smooth. Tools that scale.
We have decades of experience working on the nuts and bolts of real-time software, including high-profile video game franchises such as Halo and Horizon: Zero Dawn. Performance optimization has always been an important and costly part of the development process. It has always amazed us how little existing profiling tools helped us to achieve our goals. Whether that’s to shorten production cycles, to meet our deadlines or to simply make performance optimization a more enjoyable process. Why was there so little evolution in tools that played such an important role in the entire development process? It made us wonder: what would a profiler look like if it was invented today, with today’s programmer struggles? In 2017 we started Superluminal with a mission to build a fresh, new generation of high-quality performance tools to help programmers push their software to the maximum.
Meet the founders
Ritesh Oedayrajsingh Varma
Ritesh is a fast thinker and quick on his feet. An optimist through and through, there are few things that can bring him down. But if there’s anything that ticks him off, it’s bad software. Instead of being okay with the status quo, he decided to take matters into his own hands to show the world what good software looks like.
Jelle van der Beek
Jelle enjoys exploring the depths of technology. As a manager, he was passionate about coaching people and building teams so they perform to the best of their abilities. Throughout his career, Jelle always advocated to keep striving for quality even when under high pressure circumstances. With Superluminal, he’s very happy to put his money where his mouth is.
