Hi! We’re Superluminal

And we’re passionate about performance.

Feeling crushed by performance targets during crunch? We’ve been there.

The deadline is rapidly approaching. Your game is well below its target framerate. You’re stressed out, and your profiler is not helping the situation. It spends 30 minutes just resolving symbols. The UI is sluggish. It dumps a heap of raw data into the UI, telling you to figure it out. And once you’ve finally managed to reproduce and profile that performance issue QA found, it crashes…

Computer screens with code

We got tired of fighting our tools more than our bugs, so we decided to do something about it.

Superluminal is the profiler we wish we had during our long career in the games industry.

We have decades of experience working on the nuts and bolts of real-time software, including profiling and optimizing high-profile game franchises.

We combined this experience with our programming skills to build something new, engineered from the ground up to meet the needs of people like us. A tool made by developers, for developers.

We believe great developers deserve great tools.

Icon Fast Forward

Fast, responsive, stable

While computers become faster, software gets buggier and slower than ever. We design our software to be small, fast and stable.

Icon Lock

Simple, simpler, simplest

Complex problems require accessible, tailored user interfaces that point you in the right direction. Tools should get out of your way and let you focus on building great software.

Icon Cog

It should Just Work™

We carefully design each part of the way to be frictionless. From your first website visit, to download, install and product usage.

In 2017 we set out to help programmers push their software to the maximum.

It’s packed with features to make profiling as easy as can be in all scenarios and is under active development in response to community feedback.

Since then, Superluminal has been battle tested by thousands of developers across many companies, from indies to the biggest developers working on AAA franchises you’ve heard of.

Superluminal is great.

Its UI is really simple & quickly allows you to go from overview, thread interactions, PC samples, to source and disassembly. We fixed many performance issues, including ones we didn’t even know we had.
Michiel van der Leeuw
Technical Director@Guerrilla Games

An utter joy to use.

I went from download to profiling in five minutes. An hour later, several embarrassing performance issues were made painfully obvious. After just four days, I got our frame-time down from 50 to 20 milliseconds.
Jaap Suter
Principal Engineer @DarkVision

It just works.

Seriously cannot recommend Superluminal profiler enough. It Just Works™
Case: VS locks up on project open for 2 minutes. Traced it, could instantly see where the problem was, and 5 min later, found the offending process. End to end, 7 min for what historically took ~2hrs.

Ritesh is a fast thinker and quick on his feet. An optimist through and through, there are few things that can bring him down. But if there’s anything that ticks him off, it’s bad software. Instead of being okay with the status quo, he decided to take matters into his own hands to show the world what good software looks like.
